Hong Kong

about the provision by the Crown Agents of passages for certain newly appointed officers Ceylon has already replied (16518/Ceylon) to the effect that the C.A. should in future book

The 8.8. have replied, (52658/Straits) that the practice during the last few years has been for cadets, professional officers on the $400 to $800 scale, police probationers, and nurses to be provided with first-class, and for other officers to be provided with second-class passages; and recommend that this arrangement should be continued for the present.

Hong Kong reply that there is no difficulty in the case of officers formerly entitled to first-class mail passages and of subordinate officers entitled to second-class
